Solar Water Heating

Solar hot water or solar water heating sustems use solar energy to heat water. These work by using solar thermal collectors and a fluid system to move the heat from the solar collector to where it is needed.

 They use a small amount of electricity to power a pump. The heated hot water is stored in a tank which can be used for home, business, or commercial use and can even be used for heating swimming pools. Our systems can now be used with combi boilers which previously wasn't the case.

 In many climates solar hot water systems can provide up to 85% of a homes hot water requirements.

 Solar hot water systems use a supplemental energy source. This can be your electric heating element or your gas supply. These will 'kick in' when the water in your tank falls below a certain temperature, for example 50 degrees. In this way you will always have hot water all year round regardless of the weather conditions.

 Evacuated tube hot water systems will continue to work, providing you with virtually free hot water even under grey skies and well below freezing temperatures.
